India and the United Arab Emirates plan to deepen cooperation on steel and aluminium
Indian media reported on July 1 that India's Steel Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy held a high-level meeting with the UAE's Economy Minister Abdulla Bin Touq Al-Marri. The possibility of strengthening cooperation between India and the United Arab Emirates in industrial sectors such as green steel and aluminum was discussed.
This meeting was held under the framework of the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), with a focus on expanding steel and aluminum trade between the two sides, ensuring the stability of raw material supply chains, and promoting innovation-driven industrial growth.
India has become the world's second-largest steel producer and is committed to building green steel production, high-end manufacturing and a resilient global supply chain. India and the United Arab Emirates can become powerful partners in promoting green steel production and sustainable development. The United Arab Emirates is crucial for helping India achieve its production target of 300 million tons of steel by 2030, especially in terms of the safe supply of raw materials and energy-saving processes.
Indian media said that a major highlight of the meeting was that both sides intended to jointly develop high-quality steel and aluminum and conduct related trade on the premise of mutual benefit.
