Danieli will assist Argoma Steel Company in achieving low-carbon steelmaking
Danieli's official website recently announced that it and Argoma Steel Company have jointly determined a new steel plant project with an annual production capacity of 3.7 million tons. The steel plant will produce high-quality molten steel by using recycled scrap steel. Danieli will assist Argoma Steel Company in achieving a low-carbon transformation of its steelmaking business.
It is reported that the production line of this steel plant is designed as two 250-ton electric arc furnaces, powered by the Q-One digital power supply system, with each system having a capacity of over 190 megavolt-amperes (MVA). By adopting Danieli's Digimelter® technology, Argoma Steel can significantly increase production capacity and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 70%, allowing it to directly utilize renewable energy. Meanwhile, Argoma Steel Company uses electric furnace dust removal hoods, which can minimize noise pollution and dust emissions to the greatest extent. The adoption of Q-Melt automatic steelmaking process control can achieve outstanding energy efficiency. Danieli will also provide it with a Danieli automated scrap steel yard, equipped with automatic cranes and scrap steel visual recognition systems, as well as automatic scrap steel classification and feeding devices. Finally, Danieli will also provide a new dual-station vacuum degassing station (with oxygen-blowing function) to meet the production demands of Argoma Steel for high-grade steel grades and enhance the cleanliness of the steel water and the quality of the final products of the steel company.
